2012 Reception for Public Service Alumni

The Phillips Brooks House Association (PBHA)-Alumni Reception for all 2012 Reunion attendees will be May 26th, 2012, 3:30-4:30 in the Parlor Room at the Phillips Brooks House. Come and gather across classes in the spirit of public service! Light refreshments and beverages will be available.

PBHA-Alumni: A Public Service Shared Interest Group (SIG) affiliated with the Harvard Alumni Association (HAA), exists to foster relations among the alumni/ae of PBHA; support the ongoing work of PBHA programs and student volunteers; facilitate opportunities for continued public service; and promote the interests of PBHA at Harvard and beyond.

PBHA-A is hosting two volunteer events in Boston at the Chinatown Cultural Reading Room and The Center for Teen Empowerment. Come listen to Stoneman, founder of Youthbuild, a program that provides jobs and hope to over 100,000 youth. Where others saw only the impossible, Stoneman saw the chance to make a difference. Targeting the most at risk young people, Youthbuild provides these youth with a chance to turn around their lives and also improve their community by providing them with an education, concrete skills, and employment opportunity. A youth and community development program, Youthbuild has over 270 programs in 45 states and continues to foster leadership and address core issues facing low-income communities.
